Pantethine 60 VC

Pantethine, the activated form of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), is needed to make Coenzyme A (CoA), an essential cofactor in over 70 reactions in the body. Among its many functions, CoA is required to generate energy from fats, carbohydrates and proteins.  CoA activates the acetyl units derived from fats or carbohydrates in order to enter the Krebs (TCA) cycle where they can be metabolized into energy. CoA is also needed for amino acids to enter the TCA cycle and for fat to be transported into the mitochondria.

Benefits of pantethine may include:

Weight Loss Support
Pantethine helps with weight loss by supporting healthy fat metabolism. When converted to CoA, it works by transporting fatty acids into cells and thus, accelerates the use of fat as an energy source. Pantethine breaks down into various metabolites (one being cysteamine) that were shown to stimulate fat oxidation in the liver and other cells, increase energy (ATP production) and thermogenesis in the muscle. Pantethine supplementation was also shown to reduce intra abdominal fat, which is thought to be responsible for many aspects of insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome.

Maintenance of Healthy Lipid Levels
Studies show that pantethine may help to significantly reduce total cholesterol, serum triglycerides, and LDLs while increasing HDL levels. Pantethine's involvement in helping to manage lipid levels may be due to its role in modulating the action of several enzymes involved in synthesizing cholesterol. Pantethine's breakdown metabolite cysteamine inhibits the enzyme responsible for fatty acid and triglyceride synthesis.  Another beneficial consequence is that liver fatty acid oxidation is stimulated as well.
