Non-Toxic Electric Kettle

We want to avoid as much plastic in the kitchen as possible. Plastic is definitely convenient but it also poses some health risks. Plastics contain pthalates which are xenoestrogens that disrupt hormones making those types of health issues even worse.

We want as little plastic touching our food as possible and we definitely don’t want to heat plastic that comes into contact with our food. When plastic is heated it can leach chemicals into the food or in this case, water that it comes in contact with. This is why plastic is one of the top toxins that you want to remove from the kitchen ASAP.

Electric kettles are a nice convenience but most of them are made with plastic on the inside that comes into contact with the water that you’re going to drink. Even stainless steel kettles have plastic on the inside that is in contact with the water while it’s boiling.

While most manufacturers use BPA free plastic, that isn’t all that reassuring. BPA free alternatives that many companies are switching to (like BPS or TPP) are also just as bad or possibly even worse than BPA.

Thankfully, you can still have the conveniences of an electric kettle without using one that has a plastic interior. This kettle is absolutely gorgeous and it heats the water in minutes. The blue LED light adds a nice touch and turns off once the water is finished boiling. This beautiful kettle is really easy to clean and has safety mechanisms in place that don’t allow it to heat when there’s no water and it automatically turns off after the water has boiled for 30 seconds.
